Denna Woodbury, AICP, joined G.C. Garcia, Inc. in February 2008 as Principal Planner. She brought to the firm 15 years of experience in the planning and landscape architecture fields and has worked extensively with all governmental agencies in Southern Nevada area as well as in Utah and California. Ms. Woodbury worked as the Planning and Redevelopment Director for the City of Mesquite, as well as a Principal Planner, Acting Redevelopment Manager and Acting Current Planning Manager for the City of Henderson before joining the private sector to represent clients before the Boards, Commissions and Councils.
With G.C. Garcia, Inc. Ms. Woodbury acts as a governmental liaison, expediting planning and development projects through the agencies from initial planning applications through the building permit process, offering solutions for problems before they cause delays in the process. Ms. Woodbury meets with neighborhood groups, Planning Commission and City Council members to present development projects and address concerns.
Ms. Woodbury is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and American Planning Association. She has served on several boards and committees, including as the Governor’s appointee to the Nevada Bicycle Advisory Board. She has frequently been a guest lecturer and has taught continuing education courses in planning and landscape design and is a successful grant writer. She is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning. She also holds a Bachelor Degree in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning from Utah State University, and an Associate Degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Ricks College.
