GEORGE GARCIA
Founder of GC Garcia, Inc
George Garcia is the Founder of G.C Garcia, Inc., a 31-year-old Nevada land planning and development services firm; a recognized as a leader in government and neighborhood relations, entitlements, due diligence, development coordination, permitting and business licensing.
Mr. Garcia had over 29 years of local government planning experience, with nearly five years served as Planning Director for the City of Henderson, Nevada. Prior to locating in the Valley he served as the Assistant Planning Director in Overland Park, KS for nine years.
George brought the knowledge and leadership needed by the City of Henderson during some of its largest growth years in the early 90’s. He had an innate understanding of the importance of the public and private sector being able to work together to create healthy sustainable communities that made for a better quality of living for all residents. When he left the city to start the firm in 1995, he prioritized the company’s commitment to both public and private sector clients to develop tailor-made solutions, seek win-win approaches, and maintain a high level of professional responsiveness to client needs.
His approach to urban planning and development created a firm that boasts an expansive portfolio that includes substantial experience in retail, office, multifamily, residential, mixed use, master plans, gaming, and redevelopment with projects in Henderson, Clark County, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Mesquite, Nevada.
He was actively involved in the community as a member of the Urban Land Institute, National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP), CCIM and American Planning Associations. He served as Chair of the North Las Vegas Chamber, on the Government Affairs committee for the Vegas Chamber and on the Henderson Chamber HDA Board of Trustees. He contributed to numerous local nonprofits and served on the Board of Goodwill of Southern Nevada including 8 years as the Chair.
He is remembered by his three children: Jordan, Melissa and Kris. He and Melissa worked together for years before his passing, and she now leads the company in his place. The company continues his legacy of seeking win-win solutions and providing a high level of professional responsiveness to keep Southern Nevada a healthy and sustainable community.
